One of the nice things about Toddler learning more words, it's very interesting to hear what's going on in his head. Previously we knew what he liked or disliked, signified by grabbing, or disgusted expression, but now I know that he wanted dogfood for lunch today*.
He's learning colors at the moment. His favorite is pink. Husband is slightly nervous about this. I am hoping he'll grow up and be Tim Gunn or Dolce and Gabanna and make me clothes.
A bit of Googling later, have found out that Pink-for-Girls-and-Blue-for-Boys is a fairly recent convention. In Victorian times, blue is the colour of pretty flowers and was very girly, and pink, being pale red (fire, blood caused by 1890 jackass stunts ect) was a very male colour.
So no worries for Husband there. Hasn't stopped him throwing Toddler in the air and doing shouty, football related activites though.
*No, only the dog got dogfood.
